After the grueling Chicago winters comes the beautiful Chicago summers. Summertime in Chicago is the absolute best for multiple reasons. First, the weather is GORGEOUS. Sunny and warm but never scorching hot. Second, EVERYONE is outside. Whether they are laying out by the lake, eating brunch & drinking mimosas at their favorite rooftop bar, or playing beach volleyball with friends. Third, the AMAZING list of festivals and summer concerts. Last year was my first time at the famous Lollapalooza music festival.
What you wear can make or break your experience at a summer festival. You don't want to be uncomfortable but you still want to give off that Coachella vibe. Below is a list of helpful suggestions on what to wear to festivals and concerts this summer. I've also included a photo of what I wore to Lollapalooza last summer.
1.) COMFORTABLE shoes - When you are going to be on your feet all day wear a pair of comfortable sandals or sneakers. Keep in mind your shoes may get ruined, wear shoes that are easy
to clean or ones you don't mind throwing away. I suggest skipping
the heels and putting on a pair of gladiator sandals.
2.) Light Clothing - You will become uncomfortably hot if you do not wear light clothing. I suggest wearing a sundress, romper, or a sleeveless top with denim shorts. Wear something that will keep you cool when you are being exposed to the sun all day.
3.) Cool Shades - Unless you want to be squinting in every photo you are tagged in, I would suggest bringing some stylish sunglasses to the event. My personal favorite sunglass style are aviators. Aviators compliment any face shape and add personality to your overall look.
